The Belgian Collectors Association

The Belgian Collectors Association (ABR-BVI, established in 1993) is the sole association for debt collector professionals in Belgium and groups the prominent actors of this trade nationwide.

The members of the association have all signed – and abide by – the code of good practices and ethics.  They are selected on the grounds of their commitment to quality services, boosting confidence of creditors and debtors towards cost-efficient practical solutions to unpaid receivables.  Their solvency and liquidity is analyzed once a year. They collect debts from consumers (B2C) and from companies (B2B) for a wide variety of creditors ranging from financial institutions to utilities and countless other enterprises of all sizes.

The association represents the trade at political level and with the press, and participates to various debates about ways to improve its services. The association gathers statistics on its members’ activities and organizes trainings for employees of its members.

The association is a member of the FENCA (Federation of European National Collection Associations).
